I was one of the people surveyed for a project on the best ways to learn Chinese undertaken by Learn Mandarin Now. My personal three top picks were:
- mdbg.net dictionary
- Hanping Chinese dictionary for Android
- YellowBridge.com Chinese dictionary
Here is the infographic with the results of the survey!
More info, and others' picks, are at http://www.learnmandarinnow.com/how-to-learn-chinese/.
In the end difficulty depends on the individual. Some might find Mandarin hard and others think it’s easy. I also think it can depend on your native language.
